  • AEI alternate representative in EASA Stakeholders Advisory Board (SAB). AEI board member since 2007.


Robert Alway - Secretary General and PR Committee Chairman

  • EASA Part 66 Licensed Aircraft Engineer (B2/Cat C). Experience on L1011 Tristar, Boeing MD 11, 757, 767, Airbus A319,320,321,330,340 and Bombardier Q400 aircraft.
  • Experience as: Airforce maintenance technician, Satellite controller at European Space Agency Operations Centre, Germany, Licensed Aircraft Engineer, Maintenance control centre, Quality Management.
  • Member of various aviation sector committees, EASA Stakeholders Advisory Board (SAB), Safety and standards consultative committee (SSCC), Stakeholders Engineering and Maintenance Technical Committee (STEM) . Held multiple association leadership positions. AEI member since 2000 and AEI Board member since 2006.


 Louie Key - Vice President and Secretary of the Americas

  • FAA Licensed Airframe & Powerplant Technician for 38 years. Experience on 727, 737, 747, MD-83, and DC-8 aircraft.
  • Aircraft accident investigator working with the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB). Served as a legislative advocate, and has held multiple union leadership roles.  
  • AEI member since 2007 and AEI Board member since 2016.


Ahamed Mohamed - Secretary Europe/Africa/Middle East

  • Regional Secretary Europe-Africa since 2009. 
  • National Secretary – UNSa Aérien FRANCE since 2015
  • Licenced Aircraft Maintenance Technician (Airframe-Powerplant-Systems) since 1993 Type Rating B-737, B-757, B-767
  • Licenced Aviation Operations Technician (Weight & Balance) since 1998 Type Rating A310, A300, B-777. 
  • Aviation Maintenance Instructor B1 and B2 since 2014
  • Aviation NDT L2 Inspector PT/MT/ET since 2016

Geir Ove Eriksen - Technical affairs chairman

  • In the industry since 1994 starting as a helicopter technician in Royal Norwegian Air Force until 1998. 
  • 16 years experience in civil aviation Base- and line maintenance.
  • Currently working as a Line Maintenance Supervisor holding an EASA Part-66 Licence (Cat B1/B2 and C) on Boeing 737 and Airbus 320 FAM.

Vangelis Demosthenous, MSc - Human Factors Coordinator

  • Holds an MSc in Human Factors & Safety Management.
  • Managing Director of Kratis Training and Consulting Ltd.
  • Prior to establishing Kratis he had worked for 18 years as a supervisor and a licensed aircraft engineer for Cyprus Airways.
  • Represents AEI member at the EASA Human Factors Advisory Group.
  • Worked in the development of the current EASA human factors and SMS requirements.
  • He has for many years been active in Aircraft Engineers International.
